Our Most Frequently Asked Questions
DO YOU MOVE FURNITURE WHEN YOU CLEAN CARPET?
Yes. There is no charge to move furniture and we are professionally trained to move your furniture. After the cleaning is completed, we will return it to its rightful place on protective padding as needed. We do suggest you remove items off of your furniture like electronics, plants, lamps and knick-knacks. We will move most furniture that can be safely moved. There are several items we will not move, including: pianos, electronics, china cabinets, beds, dressers with mirrors, pool tables, etc.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO CLEAN MY CARPETS?
On average, it will take approximately 20 – 30 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal treatments.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY CARPET TO DRY AFTER A CARPET CLEANING?
Dry time is affected by humidity, temperature and air flow to the area. It can take anywhere between 4-8 hours for the carpet to completely dry, depending on the aforementioned variables. Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help accelerate drying time. Be sure to leave the protective blocks under furniture legs and any paper used with upholstered items in place until the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid any color transfer. You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, but avoid wearing street shoes, as they may re-soil your carpet. We suggest wearing clean rubber soled shoes. Be especially careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to non-carpeted areas to avoid slipping.
WHAT METHOD DO YOU USE FOR CARPET CLEANING?
The method we use for carpet cleaning is hot water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning. Our exclusive hot water extraction method removes the toughest, deepest dirt safely and gently. Hot, soft water and a specially formulated cleaning solution are injected deep within the carpet fibers. Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down dirt, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture. It’s the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers.

Solutions for Every Situation
At Piedmont Pro Clean, our meticulous twelve-step cleaning process is designed to rejuvenate your carpets and upholstery, ensuring that every fiber receives the attention it deserves.
Step 1: Pre-Inspection Process
Our technician will walk through your home with you to visually inspect the carpet, assess its condition and identify areas that will require extra attention.
The technician will discuss with you what furniture is to be moved. Please keep in mind that we do not move certain items including beds, dressers with mirrors, china cabinets, pianos etc..
Step 2: Pre-Vacuum Process
Household vacuums are not strong enough to remove all of the dried dirt that becomes embedded in your carpet. We will thoroughly vacuum to remove the bonded dry soil.
Step 3: Pre-Spray Process
A preconditioning solution is applied to loosen the remaining dirt and general spots for more thorough cleaning.
Step 4: Pre-Spot Process
Difficult spots are pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal.
Step 5: Pre-Groom Process
A professional carpet groomer is used to brush the carpet. This important step will help loosen soil for a more effective extraction.
Step 6: Soil Extraction & Rinse
The carpet is then thoroughly rinsed with a powerful extraction cleaning system. The water is heated to 220+ degrees. Water is applied and quickly extracted to remove the dirt, dust and pollen that has become embedded in the fibers.
Our state-of-the-art equipment is specially designed to clean your carpets without causing them to become overly saturated.
Step 7: Neutralizer
Every carpet that we clean is pH balanced so that there is no sticky residue left behind. This also leaves your carpet feeling soft and fresh.
Step 8: Stubborn Spot Treatment
Any spots or stains still remaining will get extra treatment with our many specialty spotting solutions. Additional cost may be incurred.
Step 9: Carpet Protectant (Optional)
Carpet protect helps the carpet regain its stain resistance that was applied during manufacturing that may have worn off over time and use.
For longer carpet life and fewer permanent stains, a professional carpet protector can be applied to your carpet. Ask your technician about this additional service.
Step 10: Post Grooming Process
Your carpet is groomed with our professional groomer again so that the pile of your carpet is standing tall when we leave. Post grooming helps the carpet pile dry faster and in the right position.
Step 11: Speed Dry Process
High velocity air movers are placed during the carpet cleaning process to promote faster drying.
Step 12: Post Cleaning Inspection

Excellent Service
Excellent Service!!! I called frantically on a Saturday after my daughter used the carpet as her canvas and “painted” it with nail polish (on my birthday might I add). Clint offered to come the same day! I scheduled the cleaning for Monday. He was honest...
